The Magic of Swifties: Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Film

On opening weekend, I had the chance to see my favourite musical storyteller – the one and only Taylor Swift – in cinemas for the film of her amazing, cathartic and record breaking Eras Tour.

I still love printed stories on the page, but the intelligently and creatively crafted performances and lyrics she has put her heart and soul into, makes the Eras Tour one story you’ll love.

Each and every performance was a work of heart, a moment of history. The Eras Tour Film started out with the Lover era, then Fearless, Evermore, Reputation, Speak Now, Red, Folklore, 1989, surprise songs and Midnights.

I was enchantingly drawn in by Taylor’s performance of tolerate it from Evermore. The acting, the lyrics, the dinning room table set, everyone was emotionally powerfully charged, allowing you to truly feel the song. The dreamy princess gown and aura of Enchanted felt like floating on a cloud or into a fairytale storybook. All Too Well The 10 Minute Version finally got its turn in the spotlight with one of my favourite chants of “Fuck the Patriarchy” (alongside the delicate chant for “1,2,3 Let’s go bitch). The transition from don’t blame me to look what you made me do was bold and cinematic, and her walking through the woods country folk vibes of Betty were upbeat yet so heartfelt and the woodland midnight witchy vibes of willow were perfect for the October Autumn season.

Stage setting from the snake illusion wrapping itself around the stage, Taylor diving into the stage, the Midnight Rain costumes change and Vilgante Shit choreography was everything you could want it to be and more.

It was the best three hours I’ve felt in a cinema and that is no exaggeration. I felt with plenty of memories, feelings of catharsis, peace and smiles. Of course not forgetting the Taylor Swift merchandise, a collectable cup and tin as well as a poster, a small version of the one I took photos with, complete with my rep era outfit complete with snake earrings.

The cinema even had a Taylor Swift dedicated corner, with a blown up version of the poster with bunting showing each of her eras complete with balloons and streamers.

It was truly unforgettable experience for all the devoted swifties like me.
